Analyst/Programmer AMPlus Production Support, Handover & Infrastructure Team (HIT)

For the first four months of my employment at AMP I worked in the AMPlus HIT Team. This team was created to carry out initiative type tasks that needed to be completed, but did not fit into any particular area's line of duty. In this role I acted as a co-ordinator of various small projects, assisted with the automation of various tasks, and gained basic mainframe skills. This four months provided a foundation for me to move onto my role within the GI Production Support area.

1992 - 1999

Customer Service Supervisor (Technical Assistant), Target Australia Pty Ltd

Whilst studying, I supported myself by working part-time for Target Australia. I was employed there for 6 ½ years, progressing through many roles in that time. For 3 years of that time I worked as a senior operator in Targets refunds/complaints section. In this role I dealt with a broad spectrum of unsatisfied consumers, which taught me excellent negotiation and inter-personal skills.

For the final year of my employment with Target I was promoted to a supervisory role which involved managing staff, rostering, cash balancing, and formulating training programs for new recruits. This role also involved ensuring the technical infrastructure was operating correctly and liasing with Target's IT area to resolve problems. This role enhanced my confidence, leadership skills, and exemplified my ability to work autonomously.
